So, I checked the Aetna website today and the claim submitted by the infamous Billing Betty is showing as "Denied." Which means that Billing Betty must now resubmit the charges with the code that I gave her. And if Aetna denies the claim again, then it's appeal time. I am in the process of gathering all of my ammunition so I can fire off the letter as soon as the written denial gets here. Of course, they only issue Explanation of Benefit statements every 21 days. So, I should have it in the mail within the next week or so, at which point I will know whether I must simply be patient, or go forward with guns blazing. At this point, it's not a matter of not wanting to pay for it. Shae needs it, it helps her, and having hearing on both sides is not something you can put a price tag on. But I pay a pretty penny every two weeks so that the kids have top-notch medical insurance. If you tot up everything I have paid to Aetna, I guarantee I have paid for this Baha several times over. So it's the principle of the matter. And I am not giving in. So dear Aetna, if you think you can tell me "no" and that I will go away, you're wrong.
